QUATECH USB WIRED AND WIRELESS DEVICE SERVERS ARE NOW SHIPPING
Quatech Expands Device Networking Line to Include USB Device Servers

HUDSON, OHIO – September 15, 2008 –  Quatech, Inc., a leader in wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) networking and device connectivity solutions, announced today that they are now shipping their USB Wired and Wireless Device Server product lines.

Quatech’s USB Device Servers are the most recent addition to Quatech’s extensive range of Device Networking and Device Connectivity products.  Equipped with the latest innovative technology, Quatech’s USB Device Servers are an excellent, cost efficient way to connect a wide variety of USB peripherals to members over an 802.11b/g wireless network or a wired Local Area Network (LAN).

"The new USB Device Server product family expands Quatech's field proven capability to network enable legacy USB and serial devices into new applications or enable those already deployed at customer sites," said Steve Runkel, CEO of Quatech. "With the addition of USB Device Servers to our existing line of Serial Device Servers, Quatech can now seamlessly integrate a wide range of devices and peripherals into network infrastructures improving work efficiency, data flow and sharing around the office or plant."

With robust support compatibility, Quatech’s USB Wireless 802.11b/g Device Server allows individuals to instantly share and connect up to 15 USB devices at once from anywhere on their wireless LAN. Advancing beyond the typical wireless printing device server, the USBN-500W can connect to and share virtually any USB device, allowing individuals to network enable cameras, scanners, printers, USB storage devices and much more.

Evolving with the most up-to-date technology, Quatech’s USB Wireless 802.11b/g Device Server is one of the first of its kind to come equipped with isochronous data transfer support. USB devices that stream audio and video can be shared among multiple Windows and Mac users over an 802.11b/g wireless network or Ethernet wired network.

To simplify the user experience, the USB Wireless 802.11 b/g Device Server is equipped with a Virtual Link utility which allows individuals to manage all of their networked USB devices in one window on a real time basis. The USBN-500W also has simplified configuration with the support of Microsoft Windows “Connect Now” to create a wireless configuration in minutes.

The USB Wired Device Server allows individuals to instantly access and share a wide variety of USB devices through a wired LAN access. The device server application enables the virtualization of any USB device over LAN, as if they are connected to a computer.

Offering options the USB Wireless Device Server does not provide, the USB Wired Device Server comes with a Network Attached Storage (NAS) option, which supplies file based storage to the USB Device Server.  With the NAS option, the USB Device Server allows USB devices to be used and shared over LAN or wide area network (WAN).

The USB Wired Device Server’s Virtual USB-IP Software contains a Virtual Bus Enumerator driver and Virtual Bus driver. Theses drivers will help in virtualizing USB devices attached on the USB server. The Virtual Bus driver takes the USB traffic from the USB Client drivers on Windows Host and assesses it to the USB-Server, which sits remotely on the network.

The USB Wired Device Server’s Administration utility provides two functionalities, the Server Manager and Device Mapping.  The Server Manager enables the administrator to configure the USB server on the network and has the option to search for the USB server on the network and change the server configuration setting. The Device Mapping enables virtualization of all USB Devices connected to the USB server board on your PC over LAN.
